What is Dangerous Goods?
Dangerous Goods are those goods which is inherent nature can cause harm to humans, animals, property, or environment.

Carriage of dangerous goods and marine pollutants in packaged form by sea is regulated order to reasonably prevent injury to persons or damage to ships and their cargoes and to prevent harm to the marine environment.

Sea carriage, RCL follow IMDG Code or International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code to protect crew members, prevent property and marine pollution. We have monitored shipper and its agent to declare the correct commodity code according to the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) mandatory International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code and all other relevant national and local regulations governing international shipping and intermodal.
The Dangerous Goods are classified into 9 classes according to the different nature of hazard that they present

What is IMDG Code ?
IMDG Code or International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code is accepted as an international guideline to the safe transportation or shipment of dangerous goods or hazardous materials by water on vessel.

It is recommended to governments for adoption or for use as the basis for national regulations.

It contains advice on terminology, packaging, labeling, placarding, markings, stowage, segregation, handling, and emergency response.

The code is updated and maintained by the Carriage of Cargo and Containers (CCC), a formerly DSC Sub-Committee of the International Maritime Organization every 2 years.
What is a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or Safety Data Sheet (SDS) ?
A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) or Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is a document that contains information on the potential hazards (health, fire, reactivity and environmental) and how to work safely with the chemical product. It is an essential starting point for the development of a complete health and safety program. It also contains information on the use, storage, handling and emergency procedures all related to the hazards of material.

The MSDS or SDS contains much more information about the material than the label. MSDSs or SDSs are prepared by the supplier or manufacturer of the material. It is intended to tell what the hazards of the product are, how to use the product safely, what to expect if the recommendations are not followed, what to do if accidents occur, how to recognize symptoms of overexposure, and what to do if such incidents occur.
