RCL launches new service between Surabaya and Malaysia

With the current own Singapore-Surabaya-Singapore Service launched in March this year, RCL is pleased to unveil the launch of its another revamp service from May 2022.

Branded as RCL Malaysia-Indonesia Service (RMI3), the maiden voyage will commence on the 17th May 2022 from Singapore linking Surabaya with Malaysia, using Mitra Bhum and Nithi Bhum, 2x 750 TEU-sized vessels with the following proforma:

According to a RCL spokesperson, “RMI3 enables direct calls between Penang, Port Klang to Surabaya and vice versa with Malaysia and Indonesia being major trading partners and still growing further within ASEAN.”

“In addition, this will also be the first and only service that provides a direct Penang to Surabaya & vice-versa link. Customers are able to enjoy preferred weekend window at both Surabaya & Penang. Having a 2-ships deployment aims to deliver a more stable and reliable service for our customers. The relocation of supply chains to SE Asia and the launch of RCEP will continue to drive the need for increased capacity and better connectivity”.
