Managing Director & President
Mr.Sumate started his shipping career in Bangkok in 1973. He was co-founder of RCL Group and elected by shareholders as Director of Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited since 1990. He is responsible for overall management of the Group to materialize its vision "to be the best regional container carrier and total logistics service provider".
Kua Hock Eng
Mr.Kua started his container shipping career in 1975 and joined RCL in 1985. He is based in
Hong Kong and oversaw RCL business in North Asia as Senior VP till 2003 when he was elected by
shareholders as Director of Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited. Currently, his
focus is on expanding RCL's shipping and logistics business for China and Hong Kong.
Capt Sutep Tranantasin
Executive Vice President (Operations)
He joined RCL in 1982 and took command of the first vessel. He was subsequently in charge of crew manning for 5 years. Currently, as the Executive Vice President(Operations), he is responsible for the management of RCL entire fleet of vessels, purchase & sales of vessels, claims & insurance. He has more than 26 years of shipping experience. He reports to the President.
Executive Vice President (Business)
Mr. Charlie Chu joined RCL on 1st September 2008 and was first appointed as Vice President (China Region). He was based in RCL Shanghai, China. Mr. Charlie Chu was re-designated as Senior Vice President (Business) effective 18th July 2011 and was transferred from RCL Shanghai to RCL Singapore with effect from the same date. Mr. Charlie Chu holds a MBA from Rutgers, State University of New Jersey, USA. His previous employment before joining RCL was with an MLO in China. He has accumulated extensive experience and business exposure. During Mr. Chu’s employment with RCL China, he managed and assumed overall responsibilities for the regional offices in China and Hong Kong. He has successfully influenced those teams to meet and exceed goals and targets set. On 17th August 2011, Mr. Charlie Chu was officially appointed a member of RCL Group Management Committee. He was promoted to Executive Vice President (Business) on 1st August 2012.
Dr. Bundit Rungcharoenporn
Executive Vice President (Support)
Dr. Bundit Rungcharoenporn joined RCL on 16th September 2006 as Vice President (IT) overseeing IT team in Bangkok. His role was enlarged to take over Group IT reporting to President in July 2010 and later promoted to Senior Vice President (Group IT) effective 1st July 2011. Before joining RCL, he worked with IBM Thailand Co., Ltd. and Tesco PLC. With more than 15 years of extensive experience in managing IT operations and business activities including Technology Architecture Integration, Leading Edge Software Development, Global IT Delivery & Project Management and E-commerce Strategy, he was entrusted by the Management to lead the team in the development of IT Strategy and mission critical core business applications (Carrier and SAP). Dr. Bundit Rungcharoenporn was appointed a member of RCL Group Management Committee on 13th May 2011. He held Doctoral of Educational Technology and MBA from Kasetsart University. Dr. Bundit Rungcharoenporn earned his both Master/Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from University of California, Berkeley in USA. He was promoted to Executive Vice President (Support) on 1st June 2014.
Senior Vice President (Logistics)
Mr.Pornchai Vimolratana has vast experience working for major shipping lines prior to joining RCL. He was responsible for the set-up of RCL liner operations since joining the company in early 1995. He currently holds the position of Senior Vice President(Logistics) and oversees all agencies logistic operations of RCL network. He reports to the President.
Vice President (Finance & Accounting)
Mr. Weerasak Wahawisal joined RCL on April 1st, 2006 as Head of Internal Audit. He was appointed as Vice President (Finance & Accounting) in 2007, overseeing the accounting team in Bangkok. Since August 2013, he was also appointed as Company Secretary where his role is to ensure the Company adheres to SET rules and regulations and to implement the principles of Good Corporate Governance. Mr. Weerasak holds a Master Degree in Accounting (University of Illinois), Master Degree in Business Administration (University of Ohio, USA) and a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (Thammasat University, Thailand).
